CEO’s Message
My 35 years long association with leading media groups of Pakistan has earned me everything a mortal like me can dream of garnering during a lifetime. In my formative phase, I was fortunate to find the right mentors who inspired me to explore excellence in the endless and unfathomable ocean of knowledge, called media. Later on, I enjoyed the honors of firstly working with, and then leading some of the most competitive and outstanding media teams in the profession. The most rewarding aspect of my professional life remains the privilege of rubbing shoulders and engaging with the most prominent figures at the highest platforms at local and international levels.
In my humble view, media in Pakistan has played a significant role in the development of an enlightened, moderate and tolerant society. However, as with every ideal, there is always room for improvement. From personal experience, I feel there is a need to undertake capacity-building and training-based programs to enhance and enrich the skills of media persons for the evolution of a free, independent and responsible media, which can ensure accountability and social justice in the society. Media Advocacy Center is a practical step towards translating a dream into a reality. With the dedication and support of Team MAC, we are constantly engaging private and public sectors, local and international organizations, advocating the need of media training, for proposing and executing initiatives in this regard. I am grateful to my team, my benefactors, partners and affiliates who support our endeavors to build a more tolerant, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan.
